Jacinda Ardern has proven time and time again that not only is she good at her job but she’s able to speak to people in a compassionate way that few world leaders can. So it’s perhaps no surprise that not only is she beloved by all around the world, she’s now officially been deemed as the world’s most eloquent and compassionate leader.

The Development Academy wing of Acuity Training put together a list of the most eloquent world leaders following a review that involved watching over 100 hours of press conferences, speeches and public addresses.
Coming at the top of this list is none other than Jacinda Ardern, who is described as having an effective “empathetic leadership style” and has demonstrated a “measured and authoritative sincerity” on every issue while still coming across as “kind and compassionate,” making her the best world leader in terms of eloquence and public speaking.
It’s quite the accolade as Jacinda managed to beat out the likes of Germany’s Angela Merkel, India’s Narendra Modi, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, and Scotland’s Nicola Sturgeon for the top spot.
As for Scott Morrison, he did surprisingly well on this list as he somehow came in at number 10 despite all his recent faux pas. The Development Academy attributes this to an improvement of his communication skills since the bushfires in early 2020 and his addresses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Development Academy also singled out Boris Johnson and – to no one’s surprise – Trump as the two world leaders who desperately need improvement in their public speaking styles because the two are, well, just awful at it and come across as less-than-untrustworthy.
So hats off to Jacinda Ardern for topping this list as the best world leader in terms of public speaking and being compassionate, not that we needed any more evidence to convince us of that.
