'A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish' Looks Terrible And I Can't Wait To Watch It

If you've ever wanted to see Santa and his elf fall in love, this movie is for you!

The latest take on the Cinderella Story franchise is set at peak rom-com time – Christmas! And it even features Santa Claus trying to romance an elf, which is… um, quite weird actually.

Laura Marano, who you might recognise from The Perfect Date (another terrible rom-com), stars as Kat Decker, a young woman who dreams of being a singer/songwriter but is currently working as a singing elf at billionaire Terence Wintergarden’s Santa Land.

Kat tries to achieve her dreams but is constantly shut down by her horrible stepfamily.

The young singer soon meets and falls for Nick, played by Gregg Sulkin (Runaways), who is far too handsome and far too young to be playing Santa. Nick invites Kat to the Wintergarden Christmas Gala to perform and show everyone what she’s made of, but we all know where this is going…

After her stepmother steal’s her invite and her dress for the ball for her daughter, Kat must find her own way into the event without them realising.

The trailer, which you can watch here, shows that the movie is incredibly cheesy, but if you ask me – that’s the best kind of movie to watch at Christmas. After all, terrible movies like Christmas Prince and The Princess Switch make for enjoyable viewing during the festive season.

The movie is going straight to DVD and Blu-Ray later this year, but here’s hoping it ends up on Netflix so we can add it to our cheesy Christmas movie marathon.
