Zac Efron Didn't Like His Ripped 'Baywatch' Bod As Much As You Did

Look, fair enough.

Zac Efron has a number of regrets in his life (like dropping a condom on the red carpet during the premiere of The Lorax), but one of those regrets may be a surprise to many as it’s something a heap of people frothed over: his ripped Baywatch rig.

Speaking of regrets, the coronavirus isolation has resulted in many haircut fails as the GOAT team discusses on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

During an appearance on ‘Hot Ones’ from First We Feast, Zac Efron was asked how he would approach the workouts, diet and physicality of a character on Baywatch compared to someone like Ted Bundy, to which he immediately expressed regret over what he did to get his beach-ready rig.

Noting that Baywatch was an “important time [for him],” Zac says he realised at the end of the movie that he didn’t “ever want to be in that good of shape again” because it was “so hard” to get to that point.

Expanding on why he hated his Baywatch rig despite countless people absolutely loving “shirtless Zac Efron running on a beach,” Zac says he was “working with almost no wiggle room” when it came to diets and workouts.

“You got things like water under your skin that you’re worrying about, making your six-pack into a four-pack. Sh*t like that. It’s just stupid and it’s not real.”

That being said, Zac says he was happy at the end result and “may do it again if there’s something worthwhile,” but he is perfectly fine with his regular rig until something comes up again.

There’s certainly a lot of truth when Zac commented on how it is “stupid” and “not real” to get his bod looking like it did on Baywatch. Unlike in real life, Hollywood actors have access to all the trainers, cooks and nutritionists they need in order to get into crazy good shape. It simply isn’t feasible to do that for most “normal” people, nor does it send a positive message about body standards when you realise the unhealthy ways required in order to look that jacked 24/7.

Baywatch Zac Efron” was a lot of fun to look at, but “regularly ripped Zac Efron” is likely going to be the norm from now on and the is perfectly fine with us.
