Here’s a question for you: What do Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds all have in common?
They’re all superheroes. Well, The Rock isn’t technically a superhero but he basically is because have you seen those muscles? He could definitely crush a car between his thighs.
The three actors have another thing besides superpowers in common- the’ve all been cast to star in Netflix’s new action thriller Red Notice.
Not much is currently known about the film, but it’s apparently going to follow the global pursuit of the world’s most wanted thief. Sounds cool. But I have another question for you: how the hell do The Rock, Wonder Woman and Deadpool all fit into that plot?
First of all, there would be no bad guy. The three of them are all certified good guys (Deadpool would resent that statement, but we all know it’s true). Ergo, no one would play the thief. Wonder Woman ain’t stealing anything with her patriotism and lasso of truth, The Rock is too much of a teddy bear and Deadpool would be too preoccupied with staring into the camera and making dark jokes.
Also, they would probably all hate each other. Deadpool hates everyone, Wonder Woman would hate Deadpool for his recklessness and The Rock would hate having to babysit them both to stop them ripping each other to pieces.
I admit, Dwayne, Gal and Ryan being cast in a movie together is a pretty epic line-up. And yes, they do each have experience acting in action movies. They’re also all really talented actors who are definitely not defined by their past major roles.
But in my head they’re still just the guy from Moana/Hercules/Baywatch, a superhero and an anti hero.
So the question remains: how do The Rock, Wonder Woman and Deadpool fit into a movie together?
