If Tom Holland And Robert Downey Jr's Friendship Wasn't Precious Enough, They Have Nicknames

These guys are too cute!

Ever since Tony Stark met Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War they’ve shared a very special connection, almost like father and son. So, it should come as no surprise that Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland also have a close bond.

Despite the fact that Stark is no longer around by the time we get to Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s pretty clear the two actors are still very close with Tom even admitting he has the perfect nickname for Robert.

On the red carpet for Far From Home, Tom told the Marvel presenters that Robert (who he was Facetiming the night before – so sweet) is saved under a special name in his phone.

“He’s The Godfather in my phone. Yeah, he’s like, RDJ The Godfather. Yeah, that’s what I have him as,” he said.

The Godfather is a pretty perfect name for Robert as that’s what he is to the MCU.

When he made the first Iron Man movie he probably had no idea what he was starting, and the MCU wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for him.

Meanwhile, it looks like RDJ might have his own nickname for Holland and it goes back to Civil War when Tony calls for Peter and yells, “Underoos!”

In June, Robert shared a post featuring that scene to wish Tom a happy birthday. He wrote, “From ‘Underoos’ to overlord, it’s been a thrill to watch you rise, and we’re all pretty darned glad [you] were born.”

In another post about Tom he wrote, “#tbt to simpler times… I love you kid…”

I don’t think these two could get any more adorable.

Earlier in the year for Robert’s birthday, Tom shared a pic of the two of them together and wrote, “What happened next is history. To a mentor on and off screen, happy birthday boss man. Hope you have a wonderful day #teamstark.”

OK, maybe they can be more adorable. It almost brings a tear to our eyes to see how much these two love each other in real life.

Wait, now we’re thinking of their last scene together in Endgame and we’re actually crying.
