The Fairy Tale English Cottage That Inspired Christmas Romcom Favourite ‘The Holiday’ Is Up For Sale

Does it come with a Jude Law?

Why bother with the ridiculously out of reach housing market we have here in Australia, when you could be living in the dreamy little cottage right out of The Holiday?

Seriously, this is a real question. The quaint Surrey cottage that acted as the inspiration for Iris’s home in the movie is up for sale – for just about one million Aussie dollars.

‘Honeysuckle Cottage’ was used as a model for the set house recreation ‘Rosehill Cottage’ that we see in The Holiday. Honeysuckle is a little bit more spacious, but the interior has all the features that made Cameron Diaz’s little getaway home so loveable.

The real cottage is in Surrey, in the London commuter village of Holmbury St. Mary near Dorking, and although it has all of the interior charms of the house in The Holiday, there is no promise that an incredibly handsome and impossibly tan Jude-Law-looking-type-person will show up at the door and sweep you off your feet.

But there is no promise that that won’t happen either, and that’s good enough for me.
