Last week, Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend and associate Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested and is facing multiple sex abuse charges involving underage girls. Hear all the details below:
According to FBI spokesman Marty Feely via ABC, Maxwell was taken into custody this Thursday morning. The Federal Bureau of Investigation had reportedly been monitoring her movements for some time while she had been living at a “gorgeous property in New Hampshire.”
Maxwell’s arrest has many wondering who else was involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, and if she will name names.
Time reports that since Maxwell was taken into custody, US prosecutors said they would “welcome Prince Andrew coming in to talk to us.” Previously, the Duke of York had reportedly refused to cooperate with authorities and has denied any involvement with Maxwell and Epstein, despite being accused of having sex with a 17-year-old girl allegedly trafficked by the pair in 2001.
According to Fox News, sources close to Prince Andrew insist he has attempted to assist in the case. “The Duke’s team remains bewildered given that we have twice communicated with the DOJ (Department of Justice) in the last month, and to date, we have no response,” the source claimed.
Over the weekend, Rose McGowan tweeted a photo of Harvey Weinsein, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell with red crosses over their faces and the caption, “Now get Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.”
Former US president Bill Clinton has previously stated he never visited Epstein’s private ‘Pedophile Island’ in the Virgin Islands. However, an island worker claimed in the Netflix document Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich that he once saw Clinton on the porch area of Epstein’s villa home.
In an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Alana Goodman, the co-author of ‘A Convenient Death: The Mysterious Death of Jeffrey Epstein’ said, “I think that a lot of the friends of Jeffrey Epstein who were very relieved after he died are probably pretty terrified at the moment because I think that Ghislaine Maxwell has every incentive to talk in this situation.”
Speaking to Daily Mail, lawyer Spencer Kuvin said, “I don’t think she is going to get out of jail alive. I said the same thing about Jeffrey Epstein and people laughed at me.”
“I think she knows way too much information – I just have this gut feeling.”
Now she’s been arrested, we’re just going to have to wait and see what Ghislaine Maxwell says and who she exposes, if she decides play along and fess up.
