Robert Pattinson Once Shattered A Fan's Fantasy Of Him By Going Out With Her

Reverse psychology at its finest.

It’s easy to forget how big Robert Pattinson used to be back in his Twilight days after a gradual, decade-long shift from heartthrob who fans screamed for to a weird cinematic auteur who prefers to work on critically-acclaimed indie films later.

The soon-to-be Batman has presumably forgotten those Twilight years (likely on purpose) but there were a few gems from back in the day, such as the time he got rid of a stalker literally going out with her.

Speaking of crazy fans, the GOAT team talk about how K-pop stans royally screwed with Trump on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

It was back in 2009 and the name Robert Pattinson was synonymous with Twilight and teen heartthrob. As it sometimes happens when you’re a young Hollywood star who is the face of a major franchise aimed at teen girls, he also had a stalker, who apparently liked to stand outside of his apartment “every day for weeks.”

But rather than call the cops or barricade the doors, Rob decided to out and have dinner with her because he was “so bored and lonely.” Now this would seem like a dream for a Twi-hard but it didn’t exactly go according to plan for the stalker.

According to Rob (via Today), he just “complained” about everything in his life and she was so turned off she “never came back.”

“People get bored of me in, like, two minutes.”

Kudos to Robert Pattinson for breaking the poor fan’s illusion of him in the most non-painful way. But we also need to give a hand to the stalker herself because the aforementioned terrible dinner date apparently took place at her parents’ restaurant.

So while Edward Cullen wasn’t who the fan thought he was in real life, they at least got him to buy dinner at their family’s restaurant. That’s pretty damn shrewd and does make one wonder if the stalking thing was all a long con just to get him to eat at her family’s restaurant.

Now we should take this story with a grain of salt given Robert Pattinson’s reputation for making up crazy fictional stories when talking to the media, but we really want to believe this one because of how funny it is and how it serves as a great lesson to overzealous fans that reality is far different to fantasy.

Rob’s star will undoubtedly rise again since he’s now Batman and we’re super curious to see how he handles the stalker demographic shift from teen girls to puffy-chested bros.
