Based On These Leaked Photos, It Looks Like Pokémon Tamagotchis Are Coming To A Store Near You

Gotta feed 'em all.

Thanks to an unconfirmed image that’s been floating around Twitter, we now know that a Pokémon x Tamagotchi crossover might be hitting shelves soon enough.

Serebii, the go-to site for anything Pokémon-related, tweeted this on Tuesday:

Based entirely on the images (since I can’t read Japanese), it looks like the crossover Tamagotchis will feature Eevee, our favourite Normal-type Pokémon who can evolve into 8 different creatures.

Even more excitingly, it looks like the toys will include the ability to evolve. To top that off, it also looks like different Eevees will be available, including one in a Team Rocket hat and a Ditto Eevee.

This is even more exciting than the announcement earlier this year that Bandai were bringing back the original Tamagotchi. An Eevee Tamagotchi is a fantastic idea, and I’m surprised no-one came up with it back when Pokémon and Tamagotchi were originally popular (although that might have something to do with the fact that the company behind Tamagotchis was also instrumental in bringing Digimon to life. Remember Digimon? Yeah, didn’t think so.)

Based on the leaked image, it looks like the device will be available in two colours, an Eevee brown or patterned pink.

Back in the 90s, Nintendo sold a Pocket Pikachu that was similar to the Tamagotchis we know and love, but this would be the first virtual pet device to feature Eevee. Frankly, I think that in addition to this Eevee Tamagotchi, they should re-release the Pocket Pikachu, because I didn’t have one as a kid and it’s left a hole where my heart should be.

Nintendo and Bandai have yet to confirm the existence of the collaboration, but fingers crossed they don’t ruin our hopes and dreams by telling us it’s fake. I need a pocket-sized Vaporeon!

In the meantime, we have the Pokemon: Let’s Go games to look forward to – they’ll hit shelves next week, along with the special edition Nintendo Switch with brown and yellow controls for Eevee and Pikachu respectively.

A Catholic Group Just Released Its Own Version Of Pokemon Go Where You Collect Saints

Sadly, the saints aren't just Pokemon in robes.

Just over two years ago, Pokémon Go took the world by storm, and even though the hype has died down since then, others are still trying to replicate Niantic’s success.

Others like the Catholic Church, for example.

Catholic evangelical group, Fundación Ramón Pané, has released their own version of the popular mobile game, and it’s called ‘Follow JC Go!’ because they’re not even pretending that it’s an original idea.

The game, which is currently only available in Spanish, consists of your character encountering saints and characters from the Bible and answering questions about them.

So Moses might ask you, “Was it me who said ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And if you answer correctly (the answer is no – Jesus said it), Moses will join your Evangelisation Team. Yay!

Go on, follow him!In addition to collecting saints and other biblical characters, you can also collect money, bread, water and spirituality in order to keep your character healthy.

Do you like my purple hair?

The game encourages players to stop and pray if they pass a church, and also enables players to donate to charity within the app.

While the game wasn’t developed by the Vatican itself, apparently the Pope is a fan. The executive director of the group behind the game told CruxNow:

“You know Francis is not a very technological person, but he was in awe, he understood the idea, what we were trying to do: combine technology with evangelization.”

Not a very technological person? The man has nine Twitter accounts!

According to the BBC, a team of 43 designers, Bible experts, and Catholic Church historians have spent 32,000 hours on the app since August 2016, thanks to $500,000 worth of private donations. What a fantastic use of money!

“Who’da thought learning about religion could be fun?!”

Think of this game as the Methuselah Rookie Card for a new generation. Flanders would approve.

This Italian Streetwear Label Just Debuted A Pokémon Line At Milan Fashion Week And I Never Knew How Much I Needed Jigglypuff Boots Until Now

If you can't afford anything else, there's always Pikachu socks.

Italian streetwear label GCDS, or ‘God Can’t Destroy Streetwear’ (was he trying to?), debuted their Spring/Summer 2019 line at Milan Fashion Week earlier this week, and it’s every 90’s kid’s dream.

Several models walked the runway decked out in some amazing Pokémon inspired pieces, including jumpers, playsuits, thigh-high boots and socks.

One of the models even had Pikachu makeup on, which looked a little more creepy than cute. Another had what I think are supposed to be Pikachu’s ears on her head, but the ones I bought from EB Games are much more accurate, tbh.

These are the key Pikachu pieces:

(Why does Pikachu look so sad on the jumper? I want to give him a hug.)

And these are the key Jigglypuff pieces:

(Of course Jigglypuff is angry, it’s her natural state!)

There were also Pikachu thigh-high boots:

And the Jigglypuff ensemble really is a sight:

The line hasn’t been released yet, but all of the pieces are ready-to-wear, so they should be available from GCDS’ website eventually. Since they’re not out yet, we don’t know how much everything will cost, but you can expect to pay over $500 for the jumpers and the playsuit, and over $600 for the boots.

This isn’t the brand’s first appeal to the nostalgic children in all of us: their last collection included a bunch of Disney/Mickey Mouse items.

In addition to all the Pokémon cuteness, the brand also had models walking the runway who were sporting…three breasts? Are we in the Year 3000?!

I’m scared and confused. I think I’ll just stick to admiring the Pokémon boots.

You can watch the entire show on YouTube, triple-breasted models and all, if you’re keen.
