Gaston Is Trying To Dethrone Michael Bublé As The King Of Christmas Albums

My, what a guy, that Gaston!

When it comes to Christmas albums there is one king and one king only: Michael Bublé.

His album, which is fittingly titled ‘Christmas’, was released in 2011 as has been the number one Christmas album in Australia every festive season since.

The most amazing thing about Bublé and his album is, well, his voice. But the second most amazing thing is that it’s the one and only Christmas album he has ever released. Despite only being one album and 16 tracks, Bublé’s reputation for singing sweet sweet Christmas music precedes him: he is, as I said, the king of Christmas.

But this king is soon going to be dethroned because Beauty and the Beast’s Gaston – known in real life as Luke Evans – is releasing his own Christmas album.

Luke announced the news via Twitter, stating: “Been keeping this under wraps but now it’s out! I’ve signed a record deal and I’ve been in the studio recording my first ever album!

Luke technically doesn’t say the album will be Christmas-themed but he’s releasing it at the end of this year, he said it’s not a show tunes album, and he’s standing in a recording booth with fairy lights – if that doesn’t say “Christmas”, I don’t know what does.

Plus, as much as I love Bublé, it’s about time someone came for his crown. The world needs some fresh versions of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and ‘Santa Baby’ to jam too from November to December. If anyone can claim Bublé’s spot as king, it would be Mr. Luke Evans. Not only is he genuinely talented – yes, he can actually sing – but he’s got the same ruggedly handsome good looks as his predecessor which will make for one b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l album cover.

It’s also a smart move on his part. If there’s one thing people love, it’s Christmas. So even if every album he releases after this one sucks, at least he made some profit.

Speaking of Christmas legends, I wonder who will be coming for Mariah’s spot this year…

…who am I kidding, no one can beat Mariah.
