Falcon And Bucky Are Getting Their Own Show On Disney's New Streaming Service

They've outgrown Cap and they're ready for their own adventures.

According to Varietya Falcon/Winter Soldier limited series in in the works over at Disney. It’s being developed for their new streaming platform, and Malcolm Spellman, who has previously written for Empire, has been hired to write it.

We already knew that we had Marvel TV shows to look forward to on Disney’s new platform, but this is the first one to find a writer.

We previously wrote that Disney planned to develop six to eight episode limited-run shows revolving around fan favourites – characters who are popular but not quite popular enough to receive their own standalone series or origin movie, like Loki, Scarlet Witch, or, in this case, Falcon and Bucky.

Unlike Netflix’s Marvel shows, these shows will have budgets that rival the budgets of the Marvel movies, and the original actors are expected to reprise their roles.

This news comes just one week after the news that Netflix had axed Luke Cage. Some fans have speculated that Netflix cancelled the show so it could be picked up by Disney’s streaming service, but there have been no reports to that effect. We can live in hope, though.
