Jason Momoa has decided it’s time to ditch his beard in favour of something else – our planet.
That’s right. The 39-year-old has shaved off his whole beard in a bid to get you recycling.
So this better work, guys!
In a video uploaded to Instagram and Youtube, Jason is seen in a plastic-filled desert hoping to convince you to drink water out of an aluminium can, rather than a plastic bottle.
He tells the camera the last time he shaved was in 2012, adding:
“I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastic is killing our planet and I think I have a solution.”
“There’s only one thing to really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle. And that’s aluminium.”
It turns out Jason has been quietly creating canned water to help save the planet.
“About 75 per cent of all aluminium that’s ever been used is still in circulation today. And it’s 100 per cent recyclable. So you drink the can and in about 60 days it’ll be back. One hundred per cent. Infinitely recyclable.”
“There’s a change coming and it’s aluminium. We better get rid of these plastic water bottles. Aquaman is trying to do the best he can for my kids, for your kids for the world. Clean up the oceans, clean up the land.”
He wrote on Instagram, “Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA… I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet.”
“Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable [aluminium]. Water in cans, not plastic.”
While the message was amazing, people had A LOT of feelings on social media:
Let’s be honest, he still looks amazing and the beard will likely be back in no time, and if not, who cares – we now get to see more of that beautiful face!
