It turns out that just because you star in a bunch of superhero movies, it doesn’t mean you have to like them, well, at least that’s true for Gwyneth Paltrow, who famously didn’t know she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Earlier this year, Paltrow admitted to her MCU co-star (and sometimes director) Jon Favreau while appearing on The Chef Show that she didn’t know that she’d filmed scenes for Spider-Man. She even tried convincing him she’d never been in the movie, watch it all unfold below:
Now, she’s admitted that she’s never seen the film while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Speaking with Kimmel she said, “I just got so confused.” Adding, “There are so many of these wonderful Marvel, interconnecting movies.”
Paltrow explained that she thought she filmed a brief sequence with Tom Holland for “an Avengers movie, but it was not…”
When asked if Spider-Man himself was offended by the mistake, she responded, “I never actually saw the movie… I mean – wait! Cut that out! Take that back!”
Kimmel responded, “You’re Gwyneth Paltrow, you shouldn’t be watching Spider-Man. It would upset people if you had.”

Paltrow appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, all three Iron Man films and three Avengers movies.
It’s not the only time she’s forgotten she co-starred with someone from the MCU. She has also previously forgotten Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes AKA the Winter Soldier and was caught out asking Chris Pratt who he was on the red carpet. She caught another time asking her Avengers: Endgame co-stars why Samuel L. Jackson was in the funeral scene. Yep, she even forgot Nick Fury.
If she’s able to forget a character like Nick Fury, she’s pretty much proven that she hasn’t watched any of her MCU films. Maybe she’s never watched any of her films?
