Game Of Thrones Predicted Kit Harington's New Role In The MCU All The Way Back In Season One

Um, spoiler alert!

It turns out that Kit Harington’s casting in The Eternals as Black Knight was predicted all the way back in Game of Thrones season one.

The casting news was announced at Disney’s D23 Expo and the movie will see a GoT reunion for Harington and Richard Madden who will play Ikaris in the film.

Madden played Robb Stark, Jon Snow’s half-brother (but in reality, they ended up being cousins), on the show, but the pair only got to share the screen in the first couple of episodes.

In ‘The Kingsroad’, the second episode of GoT season one, Jon and Robb say goodbye to each other as Jon heads for the Wall to join the Night’s Watch.

Robb tells him, “Next time I see you, you’ll be all in black.” Jon responds, “It was always my colour.”

Unfortunately (spoiler alert), they were never reunited because Jon went beyond the Wall and Robb was killed at the Red Wedding.

However, the pair will finally get that chance when they join the MCU in The Eternals as they’re both playing prominent characters in the movie so will likely be sharing the screen at some point.

And because Harington is playing Dane Whitman, AKA Black Knight, the next time Madden sees him on camera he’ll be wearing all black.

While it’s not exactly the Jon and Robb reunion we always wanted, we’ll take what we can get.

At this stage, it isn’t exactly clear how Black Knight fits into the movie as he’s not an Eternal. Dane has previously teamed up with the Avengers and the Defenders in the comics, so perhaps he’ll spin-off into other Marvel films after The Eternals.

The movie is set for release in November 2020.
