It’s been a big day for… Listening to...

Um, Did You Notice Ed Sheeran's Cameo In 'The Rise Of Skywalker'?

So much better than his GoT cameo...

It was revealed in December 2018 that Ed Sheeran would be one of many celebs to snag a cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but it was believed he’d play a stormtrooper – this decision was possibly made after his infamously distracting Game of Thrones cameo.

However, it’s now been revealed that he didn’t play a stormtrooper and instead played an alien!

The official Star Wars Twitter account shared a link to a story on Oh My Disney highlighting seven Easter eggs even hardcore Star Wars fans mightn’t have noticed about the film.

And the final point simply says, “Ed Sheeran Plays This Alien Member Of The Resistance”, along with this photo:

The article mentions Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich played stormtrooper FN-2802 and that composer John Williams played Oma Tres, a Kijimi bartender, but Sheeran’s alien has no name!

It’s unknown whether or not the singer also played a stormtrooper because he is seen in a behind-the-scenes video shared before Rise of Skywalker’s release in costume without a helmet on. Watch the video here, the singer appears at the 0:55 mark.

Maybe he was dressed in the costume to throw people off the scent of his actual character? Or he could have been cut out of the film, who knows?

Sheeran received so much hate for his Game of Thrones cameo that he deleted his Twitter account after the negative response from fans, so maybe it was best this cameo included a mask.
