The Influencer Content Coming Out Of The BLM Movement Is Just Wild

This is wrong in so many ways.

Of course, influencers have found a way to make content during the BLM movement but, we have to warn you, prepare to cringe.

We spoke about the Black Lives Movement on this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

When influencers aren’t complaining about Tinder or photoshopping their pictures, they’re adapting to the climate. They did it with the coronavirus pandemic and now, influencers are finding new ways to make content amidst the Black Lives Matter protests. And while sure, some influencers are spreading information, resources and helpful links, there are others who are trying to get some clout out of what’s going on in the world right now.

Introducing the TikTok account ‘Influencers In The Wild’, a glorious hub of content dedicated to highlighting the times when influencers take it too far. And boy, have they taken things too far now. The account has uploaded two videos in the past week which are seemingly recorded at the time of the Black Lives Matter protests and all we can really say is, it’s wild.

The first video they uploaded follows a woman in exercise clothes, standing with her back towards the camera, posing in front of a looted T-Mobile store. The narration, coming from an unknown person in a car is heard to be saying, “this girl is making her boyfriend take a picture of her in front of a smashed T-Mobile… oh my God.” It’s exactly as it sounds, you’re just going to have to see it to believe it.

The second video, believe it or not, is even worse. It follows a bystander as they stumble upon a photoshoot, where a caucasian woman is posing with a power-drill in front of some plywood with another person. After she gets her photo, she thanks the bystander saying “thank you so much” before proceeding to walk back into her car. Hilariously, someone off-camera is heard yelling “boyfriends of Instagram… good job guys, BLM!” Honestly, you cant tell us this isn’t taken from a satire film about influencers.

The woman in the second video has been identified as Fiona Moriarty McLaughlin, a journalist for the Washington Examiner, who has since deleted all her social media from the backlash. Honestly, we expected nothing less.

Let’s hope we see less of this and more content from influencers that’s actually helpful for the BLM movement.
