Ryan Reynolds Messed Up A '6 Underground' Scene For The Sake Of Insta Likes

The ultimate fourth wall break?

If you follow Ryan Reynolds on social media you’d be well aware that the guy loves to joke. Whether he’s poking fun at his wife Blake Lively or his various co-stars, Reynolds isn’t one to take life too seriously – even if it messes up one of his movie scenes.

Last September, Reynolds took to Instagram to promote his movie 6 Underground which landed on Netflix last week. In the video, Reynolds stands in front of the movie set against a city wall and says, “The best part about shooting with Michael Bay? I don’t know, a lot of people would say the action, but for me it’s the stillness.”

Reynolds says, “It’s like the…Those quiet moments that –” before being cut off by a huge car crash in the background.

Check out Reynolds’ Instagram video here.

Fast-forward to this week and one eagle-eyed Reddit user has noticed that Reynolds’ IG video shoot is in the background of said car crash scene in the finished version of 6 Underground.

If you look very closely, you can see Reynolds’ head in the corner of the scene shot from the perspective of a car he’s supposed to be riding in.

Big whoops.

There’s no telling whether this is the most elaborate breaking of the fourth wall, or Reynolds’ totally cooked the continuity here – but either way, we’re talking about it, which means more publicity for the film and Ryan Reynolds…the evil genius.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the blunder was on purpose. If you’ve watched any of the Deadpool movies you’d be very familiar with Reynolds’ love of breaking the fourth wall and connecting with the audience for a witty aside.

If you haven’t heard of 6 Underground, it follows six individuals from all around the globe chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future.

The movie is available to watch on Netflix now – keep your eyes peeled for Ryan Reynolds’ sneaky Instagram shoot.
