Ryan Reynolds Mocking Every YouTube Make-Up Tutorial Ever Is A Thing Of Beauty

Instructions unclear, need to watch again.

There is no shortage of tutorials for basically anything on YouTube these days and every single video seems to follow the same formula. The host starts with an obnoxious “wassup guys” intro that goes on for too long, eye-watering captions and graphics, the actual tutorial itself, and an annoying goodbye segment thanking everyone for watching before begging viewers to “smash that like” button and “don’t forget to subscribe.” Ugh.

It’s all incredibly annoying and yet it is all over YouTube like a plague.

The latest chap to join in on this irritating bandwagon is Ryan Reynolds, who released a make-up tutorial video as a promotional thing for his movie, Detective Pikachu. But unlike every other make-up tutorial video out there, his is an absolute blast as it is essentially him taking the absolute piss out of the concept the entire time.

Would immediately subscribe.

For 60 beautiful seconds, Ryan goes full YouTube make-up artist mode in showing everyone what he does to get ready to play Detective Pikachu and every single line he says is comedic gold.

Apparently all he needs is a black stensil (available at the nearest movie studio closest to you) to apply a bunch of black dots on his face and he’s Instagram ready. Oh and as a last thing for all those wanting to play Detective Pikachu like Ryan, you’ll want to “send you face to an Oscar-winning visual effects company who can render the final product using multi-million dollar technology,” but that’s no biggie.

Eat you your method-acting heart out, Daniel Day-Lewis.

It may be slightly different to the antics he pulled for Deadpool since Detective Pikachu is a kid-friendly movie and all, but Ryan’s promo game is absolutely on point once again and his comedic chops have never been better. In fact, it’s getting to the stage where we’re more interested in watching all the pisstaking marketing stuff he gets up to for all his films than the actual film itself.

Can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for the upcoming Free Guy but we’re absolutely smashing that “like” button on everything he pumps out.

Detective Pikachu Disapproving Of Psyduck's Physical Affection Is Such A Mood

Find the overly affectionate Psyduck to your disapproving Pikachu.<br />

We’re in the homestretch now before the release of Detective Pikachu and Ryan Reynolds has decided to kick things up a notch by releasing a new trailer because, well, he’s Ryan Reynolds and he does what he wants.

Set to the backdrop of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”, the new trailer takes on a bit more of a weepy mood. While we don’t get any new reveals on the level of Mewtwo and Lickitung or much in the way of plot reveals, we do get a few sweet moments, such as Bulbasaur and Squirtle looking adorable:

Snubbull looking absolutely done with everyone’s shenanigans:

“I hate you and everything.”

But the best moment of the entire trailer is Psyduck pulling Detective Pikachu into a big hug and receiving a look of instant disapproval of being handled in such a manner by an oversized duck.

Just hug it out.

After all the goofiness of the last couple of trailers, the latest one is surprisingly wholesome and, dare I say it, somewhat emotional. Didn’t think I would end up saying that about a movie about CGI Pokemon but here we are.

With so much cuteness in store for us come May 10, Detective Pikachu may be the magical self-care we all need after Game Of Thrones ends and Avengers: Endgame renders us into an emotional mess.

In the meantime, check out the new Detective Pikachu trailer here and find the overly-affectionate Psyduck to your disapproving Pikachu.

Taika Waititi Joins Ryan Reynolds' New Film, Giving Birth To The Next Great Comedy Duo

It's the Green Lantern reunion we've all been waiting for! Sort of.

2011’s Green Lantern was a monstrosity in so many ways it literally hurts to remember what went on in that movie. If we really – really – had to find something good to say about the film, it would be that it led to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively getting married, and it gave us a look at how much comedic potential was wasted when they cast Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi as Reynolds’ BFF.

However it looks like all that promise will get a second chance because Waititi will be joining Reynolds’ new film, Free Guy.

Yup, we’re stoked too.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Waititi will be adding his talents to Free Guy‘s seriously stacked cast, which includes Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer and Stranger Things‘ resident dad Joe Keery.

Now as for whether Waititi will be Reynolds’ fellow quipping partner in the film, well, it remains to be seen because we have no idea who is playing who yet. Actually, we have almost no details about the movie at all.

All we know so far is that Free Guy is about a guy played by Reynolds who discovers he is actually a background character in a violent video game.

Not if it works, Wade!

The premise of Free Guy is completely bonkers but we’re suddenly super keen for it now that Reynolds and Waititi are teaming up again since there’s potential for the pair to be film’s next great comedic duo. At the very least we’re expecting an overabundance of quips and banter from the two. I mean, who doesn’t want to see Korg verbally spar with Deadpool?

We’re still about a year or two away at least from seeing anything from the film let alone a release date so we’ll just leave you with one of the few tolerable scenes from Green Lantern that happens to feature both Reynolds and Waititi.

We don’t want to be the only ones who had to put our poor memories through remembering Green Lantern after all.
