Pete Davidson Sounds So Salty About Ariana Grande In His Netflix Special

Like licking a margarita.

After much hooplah and ridiculous NDAs muzzling people from talking about his jokes, Pete Davidson’s stand-up special, Alive From New York, is out on Netflix. He could’ve done with a better title though, like BDE Rants About Ariana Grande, because a solid chunk of his set was dedicated to roasting his ex in an incredibly (thought not unjustified) manner.

Speaking of roasting people, the GOAT team unpack the ridiculous feud between Gigi Hadid and renowned internet idiot Jake Paul on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

Pete Davidson has spoken about his relationship with Ariana Grande on various occasions following the end of their whirlwind romance but his Netflix special was perhaps the first time he spoke of her in a no holds barred fashion.

He kicks off his salty Ariana Grande rant by referencing the time he made fun of then-congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw on SNL and threw shade at his ex by joking: “I did make that guy famous and a household name for no reason, right? I did what Ariana Grande did for me. Yes, I sucked his dick at SNL.”

Yep. That basically set the tone for the next 10 or so minutes as the the floodgates opened.

After admitting that he didn’t initially plan on talking about the “Pete Davidson/Ariana Grande trainwreck”, Pete changed his mind after his friend said she dated him as a “distraction” and justified it by saying. “She has her songs and stuff and this [Netflix special] is what I have.”

Anticipating potential backlash for saying this sort of stuff about Ariana, Pete defended his rant by pointing out how she talked about him to Vogue.

“You’re like, ‘Pete, this isn’t fair. You’re airing out dirty laundry. How could you do that? Where did she say this stuff? To her friends in the confidence of her own home?’ No, she said it on the cover of Vogue magazine.”

“Can you imagine if I did that? My career would be over tomorrow if I spray painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started sh*tting on my ex.”

Pete then added how Ariana got virtually no repercussions from their break-up while he got called ” butt-hole eyes from Barstoolsports.com.” Okay, fair point and a pretty funny one at that.

Pete continued his Ariana Grande rant by pointing out how she is a “genius” with another genuinely pretty funny bit about how his buddies couldn’t help but love her hit single, ‘Thank U, Next’, when they were supposed to be consoling him post-break up. Even his own grandpa called it “a slap”.

The whole Ariana roast goes down another funny route when Pete aired his grievances over how he hated how “Ariana talked all this sh*t on behalf of [his] dick” and the subsequent “Pete Davidson has BDE” furor that erupted.

Pete jokes how he’d get cancelled if he said something like that and how she has “tiny little hands” so everything “looks big to her”, before circling back to how he said Ariana Grande was a “genius” by saying the reason she said all that stuff about the “Pete Davidson BDE” was so that “every girl that sees [his] dick for the rest of [his] life is disappointed.”

He then caps it off by roasting roasting himself, joking how he “didn’t even get to enjoy his Big Dick summer or whatever the f**k it was called” before pleading (jokingly) to stop talking about his his dick and the “Pete Davidson has BDE” stuff for the sake of his family and poor mother.

As salty as Pete Davidson sounds – and there was enough salt to outdo the Dead Sea – it’s not that unjustified. After all, if Ariana Grande could air out her dirty laundry in Vogue and in her music, why couldn’t he air his out on the stand-up stage?

Granted that this probably isn’t the most mature thing for either party to do but hey, they say write what you know and to make lemonade out of lemons. Pete Davidson did exactly that and got a pretty funny Netflix special out of it.

Finneas O'Connell Is Copping It For Being Unaware Of His Privilege

There's a good point buried underneath a badly worded tweet.

Finneas O’Connell and his sister have been something of a wild success story given how they arrived on the music scene seemingly from nowhere. But after a pretty poorly-worded tweet from Finneas about advice on how to “make it”, he’s been copping swaths of backlash for the apparent privilege afforded to him and Billie Eilish, as well as how nepotism played a part in their success.

Speaking of Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, the GOAT team talk about their new James Bond song on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

In a now-deleted tweet, Finneas O’Connell wrote: “A piece of advice to young creatives. ‘Shooting your shot’ is promoted widely and I think honestly, it’s a little overrated. Work super hard alone or with your closest friends. Make shit so good it speaks for itself. Don’t pester people to work with you, let them come to you.”

But what was seemingly intended to be motivational advice for artists trying to break into a brutal industry quickly turned into a freight train of backlash from people accusing Finneas O’Connell of downplaying his privilege and not recognising how nepotism played a part in his and Billie Eilish’s success.

Folks were quick to point out that Finneas and Billie’s parents both worked as actors and musicians, as well as how his message of advice really only applied to those who were privileged enough to come from families with money and/or connections to the industry.

Some people pointed out how being white afforded Finneas O’Connell and Billie Eilish a built-in level of privilege already, and how this automatically gives them an advantage over artists of colour and LGBTQI+ creatives.

Needless to say that Finneas O’Connell’s “shooting your shot” tweet kicked up an almighty fuss and it didn’t take long for him to respond with a series of (now-deleted) tweets debunking claims of his privileged status and how nepotism played into his and Billie’s success.

The songwriter wrote how his parents may have been in the industry but they were never able to financially support them in their creative endeavours, nor did they have any connections that could’ve helped give them a leg up on everyone else.

This has been quite the fustercluck for Finneas following what’s been a run of massive success at the Grammys and his well-received James Bond theme song. But the thing is, he’s not entirely wrong with his original tweet.

He’s not exactly saying never shoot your shot, he’s saying you and your art needs to standalone, and relying on producers and/or fancy tricks won’t take you very far.

What seems to be forgotten is that Billie was literally discovered on Soundcloud, not pitched to a record label or paired with any big-name producers, and they had no connections to the industry. Granted that Finneas and Billie’s success is a lightning-in-a-bottle thing and it’s more than likely that it’ll be a different scenario for everyone else, but he should be proud on how he and Billie built everything on the quality of their work.

It’s just unfortunate that Finneas wrote a pretty dodgy tweet that didn’t express this sentiment properly.

Prepare The Eye Bleach For This Revolting Sex Scene On 'The Walking Dead'

Think unsexy thoughts, think unsexy thoughts...

The Walking Dead hasn’t been good or scary for many years now and is dying a slow death, not unlike the many zombie’s we’ve seen on the show. So in an attempt to claw back some relevance and attention, The Walking Dead decided to go down the one route that’ll claw back people’s eye balls: sex.

Speaking of sex (but in a positive light), the GOAT team talk about Steven Spielberg’s daughter becoming an adult entertainer on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

For the season 10 mid-season premiere, The Walking Dead decided to have two characters, Negan and Alpha, get down and dirty in the middle of the forest. But in true Walking Dead fashion, the sex scene is not only a bit weird, it is also arguably the most revolting thing ever seen on TV.

Let’s start from the top. Alpha makes Negan walk to the middle of the forest and strip down to his socks, seemingly ready to kill him off in humiliating fashion (not unlike what he did to his Walking Dead victims in the past). But to his surprise, Alpha instead strips down naked – save for her mask – and offers him sex as a “crass reward” for previously outing a spy in her camp.

Okay, so what’s so disgusting about a mask since wearing them during sex is pretty common? Well, said mask is made of rotting human flesh. That’s almost as bad as Negan and Alpha keeping their socks on for this sex scene.

This may make sense from a Walking Dead world-building POV – Alpha is part of a group called the Whisperers and they all wear zombie masks – but it doesn’t exactly make for a particularly sexy sex scene, especially since Negan is turned on by it.

Needless to say that this brought on a visceral reaction from all remaining Walking Dead fans, a majority of whom reaction like this:

Now this scene wasn’t just born out of some Walking Dead writer pitching “okay, Negan and Alpha have sex, but she keeps her mask on” as it is actually based their relationship in the comics, albeit with some major differences.

The Walking Dead comics depict Negan as Alpha’s prisoner (like the show) yet he pines after her like a stalker (unlike the show). They gradually form a mutual respect for each other, and just as they seemingly turn a corner in their relationship, Negan kills Alpha and cuts her head off.

That’s probably less sexy than sex in a forest while wearing a rotting human flesh mask but hey, it could still happen given how The Walking Dead has taken so many liberties with the source material.

Hats off to The Walking Dead though because not only did the show grab my attention years after I last watched an episode with this grotesque Negan/Alpha/zombie mask sex scene, it also managed to be the scariest it’s ever been during it’s stupidly long run.
