Lexi From 'Cheer' Says She's Not The Wild Child Netflix Made Her Out To Be

“I was raving the whole time I was at Navarro.”

WARNING: Spoilers ahead.

If you dedicated hours and hours of your time binge watching the Netflix show Cheer like I did, then you’d be familiar with Lexi Brumback – the Navarro cheerleader with a troubled past.

Throughout the series, we see Lexi open up about her past struggles, find her second family in the cheer team and even turn to head coach Monica Aldama for advice when (spoiler alert) nude photos of her were leaked on Twitter.

In the finale (like I said, SPOILERS) it comes out that Lexi had gotten into some trouble and wouldn’t be allowed back on the Navarro cheer team.

All our hearts were breaking for Lexi until it was revealed that she was, in fact, back on the team!

Since then, the cast of Cheer have been doing press for the show and most recently appeared on Entertainment Tonight, where Lexi clarified how she was portrayed on the show.

“[Cheer] was accurate for the most part,” she said. “I think towards the end they kind of, like, painted me out to look like I was messing up really badly.”

In the final episode, after it’s revealed that Lexi wasn’t allowed back on the team, she’s shown partying at a rave. But according to the cheerleader, the rave “actually happened months before Daytona and they made it look like that’s all I was doing when I left.”

Speaking of addictive Netflix shows, listen to the GOAT team breakdown all the cheesiest content on the below ep of It’s Been A Big Day For…

“They kind of just made it seem like when I left that I was just gonna be screwing up and everything and I actually went to school, just not to Navarro,” she said.

Lexi said she was frustrated by the editing and added, “I was raving the whole time I was at Navarro.”

Whether she’s raving or not, I’m just happy Lexi is BACK on the Navarro cheer team and making magic happen once again.

Lexi.
ME.

BRB, now waiting in anticipation for Cheer season two.
