If you hopped onto the Twittersphere this morning, you would have noticed the trends were heavily skewed to one topic in particular, BTS. The biggest, most-talented, boyband in the world right now announced they’re releasing a new album and it’s coming in a matter of days.
Their new project is called, Map of the Soul: 7, and it drops on Feb. 21 so get those wallets ready! While the announcement itself was lackluster – in that there was no album cover, no video, not even a single photo – the ARMY did its thing and sent the internet into a frenzy.
Within seconds, #7isComing and #BTSisComing started trending worldwide. Some members of the ARMY even trolled through old videos of the group and pointed out that Jimin had a startled reaction when he heard the number. The clues were there all along!
It hasn’t even been a year since their last release and BTS are already gearing up for a comeback. If you’re into buying albums even in this streaming age, you can pre-order the album starting tomorrow! This new LP follows the incredibly successful Map of the Soul: Persona, which dropped last year and featured the hit single “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)”.
Considering the title of the new project, it is likely that this new album will be a repackaged version of the Persona LP from last year. For context, early in 2018, the band released Love Yourself: Tear before releasing the album again (with more songs and an updated tracklist) under the name Love Yourself: Answer.
The group recently welcomed the new year with Post Malone in Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve event in Times Square, NYC. Is there potentially be a collaboration in store for us? Only time will tell. Whatever the case is, there’s new music and the ARMY (along with myself) could not be more excited!
