Britney Spears Thinks She’s Picasso, Launches Art Exhibition In France

All around the world, painting girls.

On October 14th, 2017, Britney Spears broke the internet. Not because she had released new music or announced a relationship update, but because of a new hobby she’d picked up. This date marks the day that the Princess of Pop officially threw music in the backburner in favor of painting.

Now, the “Toxic” singer joins the likes of Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci, with her own exhibit happening in France. No, we’re not joking. The infamous painting of flowers is getting a world-class debut in the contemporary art gallery Galerie Sympa, located in the area of Figeac, France. So, if you’re in the area make sure you head on down between 6pm and 9pm.

A statement made by the museum said, “We’re thrilled to announce that we will be opening @britneyspears first solo show in a contemporary art gallery.” The exhibition is titled “Sometimes You Just Gotta Play” in order to reflect the Instagram caption from that initial painting video.

The art gallery announcing the apt title.

While the transition from singer to painter may be shocking to some, the signs have been there all along.

Since the release of Glory in 2016, Britney has been notably silent from the music industry, but her Instagram posts have been louder than ever. From game-changing vlogs to runway struts, from fitness videos to minion memes, Britney Spears has shifted focus to visuals. And we can not get enough.

My actual face when I scroll through Britney’s feed.

Will this exhibition make its way down to the NGV, the Art Gallery of NSW or any of the other museums down under? We sure hope so!

A Definitive Ranking Of The Best Disney Channel Original Movies

See Who Bopped To The Top!

Let’s be real, Disney Channel Original Movies are the actual bomb. They’re incredible. From the overacting to the incredibly camp dance numbers, these flicks had our eyes glued to the tv screens when we were kids. But, how do they rank against each other? Ladies & gents, allow us to present the best DCOM’s, ranked.

8. Princess Protection Program

In this unforgettable film, real-life besties play real-life besties! Demi Lovato is the princess who escapes an incident in her native land and seeks refuge in Selena Gomez’s house. Can’t get much better than that folks!

7. Cadet Kelly

In this classic film, Hillary Duff plays a free spirit who’s sent to her step-father’s boarding school. And, as any city-slicker, she struggles a bit. Not as much as Paolo struggled at singing though, let me tell you that!

6. Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie

Everything is not what it seems in this tv movie! One of the most successful Disney Channel films of all time, “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie” sees Alex, Max and Justin embark on a quest when a curse is placed on their family.  We can’t help but think that “Rare” is written about the Stone of Dreams.

5. The Descendents

Bad kids go good as “The Descendents” follows the super-talented offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil. The awesome foursome trade-up their dirty, disgusting island for a preppy boarding school, singing bangers along the way.

4. High School Musical

The best basketball player (Zac Efron) and an exchange student (Vanessa Hudgens) disrupt a perfectly fine drama club in the search for personal growth in the incredible, “High School Musical”. The songs, the acting, the chemistry: this Disney Channel film had it all.

3. Cheetah Girls 2

The Cheetah sisters head to Barcelona to compete in what seems to be Spain’s Got Talent in the “Cheetah Girls 2”. The story takes us on a journey showcasing the limits of friendship, all to the soundtrack of a perfect pop album.

2. Camp Rock

At number two, a young Demi Lovato plays an innocent teenager that’s just trying to make friends and sing songs. In an unexpected sequence of events, she ends up falling in love with a Jonas brother – we love that for her.

1. High School Musical 2

And at number one, Troy punches a golf course, Sharpay invents gay-male culture as we know it, Chad & Ryan have crazy sexual tension on the baseball field and the students of East High are shocked that they have to do work after getting a job. Taking the top spot on this list is the forever iconic, “High School Musical 2”.

Shaggy Only Lied About “Auditioning” For Rihanna’s Album To Give Us Hope, Surely

We Love The Way He Lie

Even Shaggy is doing everything he possibly can to get more music out of Rihanna! After a he-said-she-said between Shaggy and a Rihanna representative, we finally have the truth.

To catch you up to speed, earlier this week the “It Wasn’t Me” rapper recently told Britain’s Daily Star that he was asked to be part of the dancehall album. He said, “They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah, there’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record, I’ll leave that to younger guys.”

Excuse me, Shaggy?

What subsequently caused a ruckus online was the fact that Rihanna was going to “audition” Shaggy.

It was at this point that someone from Rihanna’s camp went on Jamaica Irie FM to set the record straight. Rihanna’s people insisted that Shaggy contacted them first and that the “Diamonds” singer didn’t approach him.

Uh, Rihanna has left the conversation.

“After Rihanna had already gathered all the material for the album, Shaggy contacted her asking to be a part of the album. She explained to him that the album was much completed and they were just working on mixing, mastering and deciding which songs to actually use,” the rep said.

She just shut a man down.

And on the whole “audition” thing, Rihanna’s team said: “However, she invited him to submit some materials so she could see if it fits with the flow of the album. That was by no means asking for an audition, it was more going out of her way to get him on the album.”

So… he lied?

Right. So, two things are possible here. Firstly, it’s possible that Shaggy is looking to make a comeback, for which he wants to nab a sneaky collab with Rihanna. Or secondly,  Shaggy is willing to say and do anything to get more info about Rihanna’s new album.

Yes. Yes, it was you, Shaggy.

Regardless, thank you Shaggy for coming out and saying what you said, because now we know we definitely have a dancehall Rihanna album on the way and we can’t wait.
