All The TV Shows That Freaked Us Out By Predicting The Future

This is eerie AF.

Earlier this year, our minds were blown when it was discovered that a 1993 episode of the TV show The Simpsons may have predicted the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and the Coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking of Kobe Bryant, the GOAT team discuss the basketball star’s legacy on It’s Been A Big Day For… below:

In this episode, Springfield is hit with the ‘Osaka Flu’ which causes widespread illness. As a result of the outbreak, the town is left in a state of panic and later, a news reporter in a helicopter repeats “going around and around.” The conspiracy theorists out there reckon this was a direct reference to what happened to Kobe Bryant’s helicopter – which reportedly circled before crashing.

It was obviously all just one very eerie coincidence, but it’s not the first time a TV show has predicted future events.

Listen to the GOAT team break down what is going on with the Coronavirus outbreak on It’s Been A Big Day For… below:

In the Black Mirror episode ‘The National Anthem,’ the British prime minister is blackmailed via a YouTube video. In order to save the life of a member of the royal family, he is forced to have sex with a pig. Four years later, rumours began swirling that IRL British prime minister David Cameron committed a ‘sexual act’ with a pig when he was younger. There was no confirmation that ‘Piggate’ actually happened, but it’s eerily similar the Black Mirror storyline.

On a 2014 episode of comedy series Arrested Development, George Bluth Sr. has an idea to build a wall between Mexico and California. During his 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump called for a border wall to be built between the two countries and notoriously said he would “build the wall and make Mexico pay for it.”

In 2007, an episode of Scrubs aired in which the janitor told J.D. he believed Osama bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan. This TV show successfully predicted the future because in 2010, an unnamed NATO official suggested bin Laden was “alive and well and living comfortably” in Pakistan, and one year later, he was located there and killed.

On a 2004 episode of Gilmore Girls, Lorelei tells Luke during a phone call, “See you when Hilary’s president!” Hilary Clinton never actually became president, but in 2016 she was very much campaigning for the role and as we know, lost out to Donald Trump.

Despite coming out over 60 years ago, TV show The Twilight Zone had a weird way of predicting the future. The show depicted everything from climate change and driverless cars to robots taking over jobs.

As previously mentioned, these TV show storylines are just one big scary coincidence, but that doesn’t mean our minds any less blown by these uncanny future predictions.

'Malcolm In The Middle' Body Rolling To 'Pony' By Ginuwine Is All You Need Today

There are no words.

There’s no denying that Mondays are a struggle. The weekend is well and truly over and whether you like it or not, you’re catapulted back into the daily grind. However, every now and then, the Internet provides us with a gem so precious that all our troubles simply fade away.

Today was that day.

Frankie Muniz, who is perhaps best known for his lead role on the ‘00s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle took to Instagram over the weekend to share a video of himself body rolling shirtless to Ginuwine’s 1996 classic ‘Pony.’

In the video, Muniz dances like no one is watching alongside Dancing with the Stars pro, Keo Mostepe – and honestly, I don’t know whether to be incredibly shocked or impressed by this beautiful hot mess.

Speaking of letting loose, listen to the GOAT team breakdown our love of Lewis Capaldi on It’s Been A Big Day For…below:

Muniz captioned the video, “I know I’m going to regret this later. Just a little action to get you guys ready for the day. White Men can’t jump or dance!”

The 34-year-old actor doesn’t need to have any regrets judging by the love he’s received in the comments section of his post. Big names like Nikki Bella and Zac Hanson have flooded the post with praise, not to mention the other 260,000 fans who have watched the vid.

If you’ve been wondering where the hell Frankie Muniz has been this whole time, allow me to give you a quick update. As well as starring on Malcolm in the Middle from 2000 to 2006 and nabbing an Emmy Award and two Golden Globe nominations for his role, Muniz appeared in a handful of TV shows and movies in the mid ‘00s.

In 2012, Muniz was hospitalised after having a transient ischemic attack. In 2017, it was revealed on Dancing with the Stars that the actor had suffered significant memory loss and has no recollection of starring in Malcolm in the Middle amongst other shows.

In 2018, Frankie Muniz and his long-time girlfriend Paige Price got engaged. Are his ‘Pony’ moves for their upcoming nuptials? Either way, it’s a blessing and a joy to see Muniz letting loose and tearing up the dance floor.
