A List Of All The Stars Who Are Banned From ‘The Ellen Show’

It's a no-show if she disagrees with you.

Are you surprised that these celebs are banned from The Ellen Show?

Ellen is copping it left, right and centre right now. From comparing quarantine to jail and screwing her crew over during COVID-19 quarantine, Ellen has been dominating headlines lately for all the wrong reasons.

We spoke about Ellen on this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

NikkieTutorials is the latest star to clash with the host but she certainly isn’t the first. In fact, there’s a bloody long list of stars that have clashed with Ellen for one reason or another. So, without further ado, let’s break down all the celebrities who have bad blood with The Ellen Show.

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin and Ellen DeGeneres have bad blood that goes way back. The feud is supposedly rooted in a monologue that Ellen once did where she called Kathy Griffin “mean.” Rumours that Kathy Griffin was banned from the Ellen’s show spurred out of this, which caused DeGeneres to make a statement on it during an interview with W Magazine. Ellen said, “I know she had a big thing about wanting to be on the show, and we didn’t book her… She did a whole thing that I banned her from the show. I didn’t ban her from the show, because first you have to be on the show to be banned.”

Caitlyn Jenner

Ellen reportedly banned Caitlyn Jenner after some concervative comments she made on the subject of gay marriage. Although Caitlyn Jenner is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Caitlyn was against the gay marriage movement, much to the surprise of Ellen.

In an interview on Ellen, Caitlyn Jenner said  “I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago, whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up, I was not for it, I am a traditionalist. I mean, I’m older than most people in the audience. I like tradition and it’s always been between a man and a woman and I’m thinking I don’t quite get it.” In Caitlyn Jenner’s memoir The Secrets of My Life, the reality star accused Ellen of subsequently barring her from the LGBTQ community as a result.

Vince Vaughn

While Vince Vaughn’s issue with Ellen didn’t necessarily result in a “ban,” it definitely resulted in an extended break from seeing Ellen’s soundstage. Vince Vaughn was banned from The Ellen Show after some inappropriate comments made by his character in the trailer for The Dilemma. In the trailer for the 2011 film, Vaughn’s character, Ronny, says “Electric cars are gay. I mean, not homosexual, but my parents are chaperoning the dance gay.” Ellen caught wind of this and as a result, Vaughn didn’t appear on the talk show for two years.

Kim Burrell

As expected, guests are usually banned from The Ellen Show for anti-queer beliefs or sentiments, which makes this star a no-brainer.  After gospel singer Kim Burrell made homophobic comments on a Facebook Live video, she was reportedly banned from The Ellen Show.

She was scheduled to promote the film Hidden Figures with Pharrell, but Ellen confirmed she didn’t want Burrell on the show. Ellen said, “Her name is Kim Burrell. She made a statement she was doing a Facebook Live and she said some very not nice things about homosexuals, so I didn’t feel that was good of me to have her on the show to give her a platform after she was saying things about me.”
