This Is What Robert Pattinson's Batman Would Look Like In The 'Joker' Universe

There's dark, and then there's 'Joker' dark.

While we know that Robert Pattinson’s Batman won’t actually do a crossover with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, that doesn’t mean we can’t imagine what he’d look like in that R-rated universe.

Australian-based digital artist Mizuri has created some artwork of what Pattinson would look like if Matt Reeves’ The Batman was in any way inspired by Joker.

He shared the artwork on Instagram and wrote, “Should [The Batman] be Rated R like Joker? After seeing the masterpiece that was Joker, it really showed a new and exciting look at comic book movies, and set the bar super high for future films.

“That being said, I’m really hyped for Batman specifically, and I’m hoping for it to be a really gritty and mature film much like Joker. What are your thoughts on this? Here’s a little artwork I did displaying this. Enjoy!”

Of course, there’s dark and then there’s Joker dark, so it’ll be interesting to see where Reeves takes The Batman and if he’s inspired at all by Todd Philips’ film.

Reeves has previously told THR that his film will be a “noir Batman tale”.

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional,” he explained.

“It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.

“I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

Pattinson previously told Variety what it was like to put the costume on for the first time for the final stages of auditions.

He described is as “maybe the craziest thing I’ve ever done in terms of movie stuff”.

“I put it on. I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative!’ He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.’”

“You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’”

I cannot wait to see Pattinson all suited up!
