Kristen Stewart Proves You Can Be Friends With Your Ex With This Comment About RPatz As Batman

"I’m very, very happy about that."

While Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson might be best known for their work in the Twilight series, both actors have moved on since then and have chosen smaller films, proving they’re far more talented than we first probably realised.

Stewart is returning to big-budget films with a role in the new Charlie’s Angels reboot, while Pattinson was recently cast as Batman in Matt Reeves’ new film.

When asked about RPatz’ new role, Stewart proved she’s got nothing but love for her ex, saying she couldn’t be happier for him.

Speaking with Variety, she said, “Oh man, I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part. I am so happy for him. It’s crazy.”

That’s a huge compliment!

The interviewer then added that Pattinson’s cheekbones also made him perfect for the role, and the actress added, “Yeah, for sure. Also he just feels like – I don’t know. I’m very, very happy about that. I heard that and I was like, ‘Oh man!’ It’s awesome.”

Watch the video here, she looks so excited for him:

The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021, and you can already tell that Pattinson is finding it difficult to keep his mouth shut about details of the film.

Also speaking to Variety, the actor was asked if the film will be more of a detective story and he laughed as he told them, “I have no ideas about anything.”

When Pattinson heard Reeves was working on a script reimagining Bruce Wayne in the younger years of his life, he knew he had to be involved.

“I’d had Batman in my mind for a while… It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.”

Once the script was finished, Reeves agreed to meet Pattinson, “And then I had to kind of try to imagine what he’d written, and I hadn’t even read the script,” he said. “I’d come with this pad full of notes.”

In May, Rob flew back to LA to try on the Batsuit for the final stages of auditions. He described is as “maybe the craziest thing I’ve ever done in terms of movie stuff”.

“I put it on. I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative!’ He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.’”

“You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’”

When he found out he got the role, Pattinson was about to start work on Christopher Nolan’s newest film, “I was like, ‘What a coincidence this is happening. It’s absolutely crazy.”

Working with Nolan meant he could constantly ask him questions about his Dark Knight series.

During the interview he also accidentally mentioned Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker movie before telling the interviewer, “Oh s***… I definitely should not say that. I’m so used to pretty art-house movies, where you can watch the movie three times and still not know what it’s about.”

We can’t wait to see RPatz as Batman!
