The Wild Cast Of The Scooby-Doo Reboot Just Got 326% Sexier

Zoinks!

So, hands up who was super keen for a new Scooby-Doo movie?

OK, fine.

Hands up who’s way keener if I tell you that the new Scooby-Doo movie, titled simply Scoob, just cast our favourite bleached-up hunk of spunk as Fred?

Yep, Zac Efron is joining the all-star cast as the ascot-loving, booby-trap-building, secretly-totally-into-Velma Scooby dude, Fred Jones.

OK, so it’s animated, so you won’t technically see Efron’s beautiful face. But you’ll be able to picture it.

Perhaps this is why he blonded up – so he could really get into the role?

Amanda Seyfried has also been cast as Scooby gang member Daphne, who has red hair and probably some other attributes too even though I can remember exactly nothing else about her right now.

They’re joining Jane The Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez as Velma and Will Forte as Shaggy, AKA the all-powerful meme king of the internet.

It seems correct, in a way, that Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar, the now-married 90s teen dreamboats who played Fred and Daphne in the early-00s live-action remakes, are being followed by the stars of iconic noughties classics Mean Girls and High School Musical.

But we hope they had the news of their recasting broken to them a bit more gently than poor old Matthew Lillard – who’s played Shaggy over 100 times in in films, TV shows and video games for nearly 20 years, but found out about Scoob from the mean old internet.
