The Wu-Tang Clan Are Releasing Their Own Make Up Line, Because Cosmetics Rules Everything Around Me

The new line of lipsticks is a collaboration between the iconic rap crew and Milk Makeup.

When you think “Forward-thinking, cruelty-free make-up brands”, the iconic hip-hop crew the Wu-Tang Clan aren’t the first people to come to mind. However, that’s exactly what the legendary rap outfit are doing.

The Wu-Tang Clan have launched a range of lipstick shades, in collaboration with Milk Make-up. Keeping on brand, each of the eight shades is inspired by the ancient Chinese philosophical text, the I Ching.

The “Chi (Thunder)” shade from the new lipstick collection.

As well as eight shade of lipstick, a 24-karat gold make-up mirror, styled in the iconic Wu-Tang W, is also available and – in my opinion – looks so cool even I want it.

Speaking with Vogue, the unofficial leader of the crew RZA spoke about how, through this make-up line, he wanted to celebrate the power of women.

Warriors come in all forms, but right now women are the modern warriors, unapologetic in their strength and speaking out about things they’ve held in or feared they’d be shunned for on both a personal and political level.

Continuing that theme, the official launch trailer features Teyana Taylor showing off her best kung-fu moves.

The is just the latest move in a big year for the Wu-Tang Clan. Last month, they announced that they’re developing a TV series based on the early days of the group.

In addition, they’re set to do a  sold-out four-night residency at the Sydney Opera House, performing their classic Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in its entirety.
