Good News Marshmallows! Kristen Bell Confirms That A Veronica Mars Revival Series Is Officially Happening

Veronica all grown up! Or still playing a teen, I wouldn’t put it past Hollywood.

Our prayers have been answered and we are officially getting the Veronica Mars revival starring the one and only boot-leg detective, Kristen Bell.

The rumours have been swirling for a little while and there was a substantial amount of anxiety that we were getting our hopes up for nothing, but Bell confirmed the reboot herself in a post on social media.

“BREAKING NEWS out of Mars Investigations! :)” The caption reads. “A new #VeronicaMars series is comin atcha via @hulu.”

“Thank you to all the marshmallows for staying excited and to @Hulu for giving Veronica a chance to wear her big girl pants. I hope we’re still friends after I taser you.”

Unfortunately we don’t actually get Hulu in Australia, but all the Veronica mars episodes are currently on Stan so let’s pray (and demand) that the new season gets to us one way or another too. It is vital that the Aussie fans are not forgotten because new VM content is very exciting.

A press release for the new season reveals the crime Veronica will be investigating during the eight one-hour episodes:

“Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry.”

“After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”

If you need to catch up on all the glorious episodes that originally ran from 2004 to 2007, then now is the time. Why haven’t you watched it yet? Please binge-watch immediately.

Bell also starred in a Veronica Mars movie in 2014 that was actually funded by fans through a 2013 Kickstarter campaign, and while we’re not paying for the revival season, let’s not pretend we don’t owe this one to the fans as well.
