The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving With These Memes

"Crying because I'll never hold Baby Yoda's weird little green claw."

The Mandalorian quickly became one of my favourite shows of the year thanks to the inclusion of the adorable Baby Yoda.

I love Baby Yoda, I would do anything for him and I’m not the only one.

And now episode four of The Mandalorian has brought a delightful Baby Yoda meme to life and it’s perfect.

Some say the meme reminds them of Kermit the frog passive-aggressively minding his own business, while others think it reminds them of themselves.

Behold Baby Yoda drinking from a mug:

According to Vanity Fair, Werner Herzog, who stars in the show as The Client is responsible for saving the puppet version of Baby Yoda after seeing The Mandalorian creator and showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni removing the puppet from set to prepare to shoot a blank slate so they could add him in digitally if the puppet wasn’t convincing enough.

“You are cowards,” he declared. “Leave it.”

Seriously, how could anyone doubt the power of Baby Yoda?

Now, fans are getting upset about the lack of Baby Yoda merchandise with Favreau reportedly wanting to hold off on making any products in case the existence of the character was leaked early.

The Walt Disney company tells Vanity Fair there are plans to bring out more products in coming weeks, however, at the moment the only real official piece of merchandise is this T-shirt.

Hasbro also confirmed they will not have toys ready for Christmas and we’ll have to wait until 2020 before getting our hands on them.

However, creators on Etsy are already capitalising on the popularity of the character by making crocheted Baby Yoda, felt dolls as well as things like Christmas ornaments featuring the character, sweatshirts and much more.

Gina Carano, who stars in episode four of The Mandalorian told the publication Baby Yoda brings warmth to a show that focuses on a character who prides himself on his lack of feeling, “That just raises the emotional level and the stakes… The Mandalorian and that being’s relationship is really cool to watch.”

And it’s true, we now care so much more about the faceless Mandalorian because he cares so much about the little guy.

But seriously, if Baby Yoda doesn’t get to live happily ever after, I am rioting.

Carrie Fisher Left 'Star Wars' Director JJ Abrams A Cryptic Message In Her Book

"It was really strange."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director JJ Abrams has revealed Carrie Fisher left him a cryptic message in her book before she passed away in 2016.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, Abrams revealed the actress left him a message in The Princess Diarist, which was released in November 2016, a month before her passing.

He said, “I wasn’t supposed to work on this film [Rise of Skywalker], and she passed away before The Last Jedi was released, and she wrote this book.”

“She thanks me at the very end, she says, ‘Special thanks to J. J. Abrams, for putting up with me twice.’ And I had never worked with her before The Force Awakens and I wasn’t supposed to direct Episode IX. And it was a very Carrie thing to write something like that and to somehow know. It was really strange.”

Somehow, Fisher knew she’d work with Abrams again, even if it was after she passed away.

Wow.

Colbert asked Abrams about the rumour that George Lucas had intended the third series of Star Wars films to be Leia’s story. The director responded that he didn’t know if that was the case or not, but explained how they brought Leia to life in the last film in the Skywalker saga.

“She was the greatest. And we knew that there was no way that we could finish this Skywalker saga without Leia. It was impossible. And we knew we’d never want to do a digital Leia and of course couldn’t recast it,” he said.

Thankfully, he figured out a way around it.

“I remembered we had these scenes that we had shot in The Force Awakens that we’d never used, which at the time I was really upset that we weren’t using them because it was Carrie and it was Leia and how do you not use them? But it just didn’t work in the movie. And weirdly, those scenes were material that we 100 per cent realised that could be used to tell her story in this film.

“So every time you’re seeing Leia in scenes with characters it’s Carrie in this movie.”

He added, “And I still can’t quite believe that she’s gone, because we’ve been working on these scenes in editorial and she’s as there as anyone. It’s really uncanny.”

The First Married At First Sight Teaser Is Here For Your Daily Dose Of Cringe

"I’ll never be the same."

Viewers have been treated to their first teaser for next year’s season of Married At First Sight and it’s just as cringeworthy as you’d expect.

The ad was released by Channel Nine on Sunday revealing a number of the brides and grooms as they wander through an enchanted forest.

It then sees the couples walk through a ‘Tunnel of Love’ which looks a little creepy, but is soon lit up with fairy lights – fairy lights make everything less creepy right?

It becomes very dramatic and almost Twilight-esque as different men and women find their matches and kiss, with one couple lifted off the ground. The pair spin around as they smooch and are lifted all the way into the night sky with a very dramatic full moon behind them.

Watch it here:

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the teaser and it’s very mixed.

One fan wrote on the Married At First Sight Facebook page, “Another [season] of beautiful people who reckon they cannot find love… When are they going to pick normal people?”

Another added, “This promo video reminds me of one of those odd and slightly confusing perfume [ads],” and I’d have to agree. Another user seemingly read my mind when they wrote, “Are they vampires in a teen franchise movie?”

Someone else wrote, “I’m still trying to recover IQ points from the last one. I’ll never be the same, I’m traumatised and tainted for life.”

Woman’s Day reports Elizabeth Sobinoff, who appeared in the 2019 season of Married At First Sight, will return to our screens as an intruder in the next season.

The mag also reports Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant will return, not as contestants, but as last season’s success story. The pair recently tied the knot for real with A Current Affair filming the whole thing for Channel Nine.

Daily Mail reports Elizabeth has been set up with Seb Guilhaus, a professional sportsman, and it’s believed they’re “still going strong”. The publication also reports that Guilhaus is an actor, how convenient.

It appears as though Guilhaus had a StarNow page, but it’s since been taken down.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to watch the madness unfold next year.
