Netflix's 'Messiah' Has Turned Jesus Christ Into An Unholy Thirst Trap

Sinful thoughts incoming.

The last thing the world wanted or expected was a Netflix series about a Jesus Christ figure set in the modern day. And yet the streaming giant went ahead anyway and cobbled together a TV series called Messiah, skeptics be damned.

And based on the trailer, it’s… actually pretty damn intriguing in a sort of “Homeland with a dash of the supernatural” kind of way.

Messiah revolves around a mysterious man named Al-Masih (played by Mehdi Dehbi) who claims to be some sort of modern day Jesus Christ and has the “miracles” to back up his bonkers claim. While this all seems like a load of bull, he’s amassing a cult of followers and this has drawn the attention of CIA agent Eva Geller (played by Michelle Monaghan), who is trying to figure out whether this dude is actually the Son of God or a glorified con artist.

But putting aside the inevitable tidal wave of internet commentators chiming in with their two cents on Messiah‘s take on Jesus Christ, the character’s skin colour and how religiously inappropriate this may or may not be, there’s one thing no one can deny abut Netflix’s take on the son of God: he’s smoking hot.

Netflix has somehow managed to channel everyone’s collective thirst for all things bangable (i.e the one thing that rises above all religious affiliation) into something that stirs the loins as much as the brain.

Between the long, silk locks and peach fuzz facial hair to the way he rocks a pair of jeans, Messiah‘s version of Jesus Christ is arguably the most bangable version of the Son of God we’ve ever seen.

Sinful thoughts incoming.

Now we have no idea how Messiah will unfold but consider this: Al-Masih is stupidly attractive and so is Eva Gellar. Now Homeland also had this exact same dynamic and the protagonists of that show ended up making the beast with two backs.

That’s not to say that will happen in Messiah, but when you’ve got two hot lead characters pitted against each other, well, the chances of them banging are pretty frigging high. Just saying.

Either way, it seems like eternal damnation is on the cards for many thirsty people courtesy of Netflix’s new Jesus Christ thirst trap when Messiah rises on January 1, 2020,
