Donald Trump Has Been Forced By US Court To Give Back CNN Journalist Jim Acosta’s Press Pass, And Trump Is Taking It As Well As You’d Expect

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders had previously confiscated Acosta's White House press credentials

Donald Trump and his White House staff have been ordered by a US district court to temporarily reinstate the press pass of CNN Journalist Jim Acosta, CNN reports. Acosta and CNN are suing the White House after his pass was confiscated, following a fiery post-midterm election press conference and a justification that used a doctored video as proof after the fact.

Federal Judge Timothy J. Kelly – notably, a Trump appointee – order the reinstatement while the court case proceeds. It should be noted that this isn’t an all-out win for CNN yet, but merely a stay until a final decision is reached once the court case is underway.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump is taking this news very well. And by “very well” I mean he’s pretty much already planning his fightback.

Trump so wishes the oval office was part of the WWE and you know it.

Speaking with Fox News – who, by the way, sided with CNN in regards to this case – Trump said that the case was “no big deal” in a very “I’m totally not mad, actually, you’re the one who’s mad” power move.

He elaborated that he’s already looking at setting up rules and regulations for journalists.

Yeah, its fine, I mean it’s not a big deal. What they said, though, is that we have to create rules and regulations for conduct etc. etc. We’re doing that, were going to write them up right now. It’s not a big deal and if he misbehaves, we’ll throw him out or we’ll stop the news conference

On one hand, having a set of rules for behaviour that everyone agrees to would partially fulfil the need for due process, as set out in the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution.

On the other hand, how likely is it that the rules will include “no hard questions”, “I answer what I want”, and “kiss the ring”?
