Rumours of a reboot of beloved 90’s sitcom The Nanny has been making the rounds for a while, from Fran Drescher no less.
But this week Drescher raised the stakes in a chat with Entertainment Weekly, saying she’s keen to get none other than Cardi B to join the family in a reboot. And that’s a combo we are absolutely here for.

“I want to do a sitcom with Cardi B,” Drescher said. “Wouldn’t she be great as my daughter?!!!”
“I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!’” Drescher said.

Drescher goes on to say how flattered she was by Cardi’s Instagram post that paid homage to her and her iconic fashion, so it sounds like there’s enough mutual admiration and respect to get a Cardi-Fran team-up off the ground.
Drescher also acknowledged that Cardi appearing as her daughter would of course mean that her character Fran Fine would have to have strayed from her onscreen (white) love interest, Maxwell Sheffield.
While we all ship Fran and Sheffield, it seems like fans are ready to allow for some philandering if it means Cardi B joins the family. Fans have actually been calling for Cardi and Drescher to combine forces for a project since at least December when Cardi rocked an epic Nanny look for an interview on The Tonight Show.

We need a The Nanny reboot and we need Cardi B to make an appearance. Give the people what they want.
