Daisy Ridley Reveals What Carrie Fisher Says To Her During Emotional Scene In Star Wars Trailer

It's exactly what you'd expect from Carrie Fisher.

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has revealed what Carrie Fisher whispered in her ear during the hug that is seen in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer.

Fisher, who sadly passed away in 2016, has been edited into the ninth Star Wars film using deleted footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Carrie’s Leia Organa was originally supposed to be at the forefront of the film like Han Solo and Luke Skywalker were for the previous two films.

Daisy has spoken to Vulture about the emotional scene where she and Carrie share a hug, and was asked if she remembered what the original context for the scene was as it was filmed for The Force Awakens.

She said, “I do! It’s not a million miles away from what this scene is. It was very sad. I found it very moving to watch it, because I do remember the original.

“And it’s a strange thing to do, for someone that’s not around anymore to be brought back to life. It’s eerie that it resonates so much with what the story is this time. It’s pretty amazing.

“She was actually whispering, “This is a f***ing long hug.” [Laughs.] I was trying to do my acting, like, “Oh my god, Carrie!” There wasn’t any discussion about what we were gonna do.”

We can totally picture Carrie saying something like that!

It will no doubt be bittersweet to watch the film, especially given how pivotal Carrie was to the original trilogy, but we believe JJ Abrams will pay tribute to her in a way that is both meaningful to fans and fits the plot.

While it may be sad to see her final film, comments like the one made to Daisy remind us of her amazing humour.
