Daisy Ridley On The Heartbreaking Moment She Learned Carrie Fisher Had Died

So sad!

Daisy Ridley has revealed the heartbreaking moment she found out her Star Wars co-star Carrie Fisher had passed away following a heart attack on December 27, 2016.

In an interview with The Guardian, Ridley said, “I spoke to [my agent] Hylda, and went to the bathroom and wailed. Someone sweetly came up to me and asked if I wanted a refund for my ticket.

“I said, ‘No, I’m fine’ and then I wailed more, and then I had a parking ticket and was, like, this is all awful,” she added.

While Fisher passed away before filming began on The Rise of Skywalker, she was able to appear in the movie thanks to old footage that hadn’t previously been used.

Speaking of actors who appeared in movies beyond the grave, James Dean is apparently returning to screens despite the fact he died in 1955. Find out more below:

Ridley spoke about how they were able to keep Fisher in the film, “Everyone is really happy with the way the footage has been used, even though it’s difficult to do and watch.”

She added, “Billie [Lourd, Carrie’s daughter] is in the film, and she says it was a way of working with her mum again. It’s one of those weird things where it’s as satisfying as can be, even amid all the trauma.”

According to The Metro, JJ Abrams, director of The Rise of Skywalker and The Force Awakens, said he believed Fisher would be happy with how the old footage was used, “Had Carrie been around, and it’s still impossible for me to believe she isn’t because we’ve been editing with her for about a year and she’s been very much alive with us in every scene.”

“We were able to, I think, do something that Carrie herself … would be happy with… She’s great in the movie, of course, and it’s still emotional and moving to think of her and how sad we all are she’s not sitting here with all of us.”
