The Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Has Sparked Concern For Tony Stark’s Avengers Fate

Far be it from Marvel fans to jump to conclusions.

Marvel fans gather round, for we have been blessed with the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and there’s a lot to read into here.

First of all, we have our first look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, looking great. So that’s exciting.

Spider-Man: Far From Home marks the first movie of Marvel’s Phase 4, meaning it indicates that in Avenger’s Endgame Peter Parker somehow comes back to life from the pile of dust he was reduced to on Titan in Avengers: Infinity War.

While the whole Peter Parker-goes-to-Europe story line looks plenty interesting, a lot of Marvel fans are distracted by the burgeoning theory that this trailer indicates the retirement of one of the Spider-Man’s accomplices from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yep, people are stressing out that the absence of Tony Stark from the trailer put together with a few other ‘clues’ confirms Tony Stark’s eventual fate in Avengers: Endgame. So there’s a lot to take in here:

If you’re interested in buying into the Tony-Stark-is-dead conspiracy, this is how it’s been inspired:

#1. Robert Downey Jr is no where to be seen.

After playing a small but crucial part in Spider-Man: Homecoming, his absence is conspicuous.

#2. The giant cheque is signed by Pepper Potts.

Although, people have pointed out that Gwyneth Paltrow’s character is the CEO of Stark Industries, so maybe she’s just getting stuff done.

#3. Then there’s Happy Hogan’s “your’e all alone” line, which, yes, could refer to the fact that he’s in Europe, and for some reason none of the Avengers felt the need to turn up and help out.

Or maybe Tony Stark is a goner. Only time will tell.

Spider-Man: Far from Home should be in cinemas on July 5, 2019, while Avengers: Endgame is out on April 26, 2019. Unless there is an arbitrary delay in Australia that’s yet to be announced – stay tuned.
