Here's How Spider-Man: Far From Home's Post Credits Will Change The MCU

Something's tingling.

Look, Spider-Man: Far From Home was solid, it was the perfect post-Endgame film, it had relatively lower stakes and forces Spider-Man/Peter Parker to deal with more personal issues and all in all it was great but then…

THE POST CREDITS SCENES CHANGE EVERYTHING!

Firstly in the mid-credits, it’s revealed that before he apparently dies, Mysterio/Quentin Beck records a video revealing Spider-Man’s true identity and frames him for the Elemental attacks, sending the video to none other than J. JONAH. FREAKING. JAMESON played by J.K. Simmons who is reprising the role after the OG trilogy of Tobey Maguire films. The Daily Bugle also makes a return as an online show akin to Alex Jones’ InfoWars which tbh, makes a lot of sense.

Revealing Spider-Man’s identity to the world is going to have massive ramifications in the MCU as one of the biggest plot threads through all Spider-Man series is Peter trying to hide his identity. Not only this, but having Peter be framed for Mysterio’s crimes is another big change that would be worth a movie within itself. With these two plot developments alone, it looks like the MCU is looking to implode everything we know in Phase 4 which leads me onto the next post-credits scene…

The reveal of Nick Fury and Maria Hill actually being Skrulls, Talos and Soren from Captain Marvel might’ve seemed a bit odd until we see the real Nick Fury commanding a Skrull spaceship is setting the scene for the next big arc for the MCU… SECRET INVASION! In the comics Secret Invasion is a major crossover event that reveals that Skrulls have invaded Earth and use their shapeshifting abilities to take the identities of some of our favourite heroes.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, in both Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Skrulls are allies but in CM we do hear of other Skrull factions that aren’t as…good. Or perhaps Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos makes a turn for the worst and leads the charge against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Regardless, it looks like the Skrulls are going to be really important to the MCU’s Phase 4.
