The Spice Girls Might Replace Posh With This Finnish Eurovision Rando For Their Reunion Tour

Scandi Spice, anyone?

Depending on who you always ended up dressing as, your excitement over the confirmed Spice Girls reunion tour may or may not have been dampened by the news that 5 will become 4.

Posh “Victoria Beckham” Spice is apparently too busy running her hugely successful eponymous label to come on tour with her old mates.

So as speculation mounts as to whether the Spice rack will remain a bottle short, one brave lady stepped up to Mel C and volunteered her services in Posh’s place.

Saara Alto, a Finnish singer who competed in her home country’s version of The Voice and then came runner-up in the The X Factor UK before representing Finland in Eurovision 2016. She’s currently appearing on UK TV as a contestant in Dancing On Ice.

And she just told UK tabloid The Sun that she straight-up asked Mel C if she could be the understudy Spice Girl, and the artist formerly known as Sporty… didn’t say no?

“She said, ‘You can be the fifth one if you want. Well, there’s always room for another great singer. I can say that.’”

“They want to have a fifth member for the tour. I was like, ‘Is this a real question?’ It’s insane.”

“She said there’s room for someone who can really sing. I just thought it was incredible she said that.”

That sounds like an extremely definite invitation that’s very much confirmed.

Posh was my favourite Spice Girl but she didn’t have that many lines to sing,” Alto added, perhaps not meaning to sound quite so shady.

The SpiceCamp has not confirmed or denied Alto’s claims as yet.

She also told the Sun that Geri has written a song for Alto’s next album, so maybe it’s legit after all?

Beckham told the Guardian in a just-published interview that yes, she’ll probably feel “a bit left out” when she sees the other girls on stage… but she still doesn’t actually want to join in.

Any introvert can relate.
