Just last week, Mel B claimed that back in the day, her and Geri Horner hooked up. It was a story that definitely wasn’t appropriate to share without Geri’s permission, and Mel signalled that she was aware of that, but wanted Geri to be asked about it and admit it happened.
Well, Geri has responded, except it’s not the admission of the Scary Spice and Ginger Spice one night affair that Mel B was after.
Geri issued her statement to Daily Mail, in which she calls Mel B’s story both false and “hurtful”.
“It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days.” the statement reads.
“Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”
“Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”
At least the disagreement about what did or did not happen isn’t going to bring The Spice Girls Reunion Tour to a halt, but it definitely seems like an awkward cloud lingering overhead. This is why making your mate’s private business public conversation without their permission is never a good idea.
