We’re a few months away from the release of the live-action adaptation of Sonic The Hedgehog and so far reception has been mixed about how the titular hedgehog looks.
Having been accustomed to the stick-thin 3D renders of the Blue Blur over the years, fans have had a hard time accepting the fact that live-action Sonic is seriously swole and has the body of an Olympic athlete.

Well folks, the full character design of Sonic has now leaked and I have a feeling that his muscular legs will be the least of fans worries.
That’s because live-action Sonic looks like this:

Good freaking grief.
Ol’ mate looks like a cross between a furry and a bloke at a rave who’s been crackin’ on the pingers. I mean, just look at those creepy eyes. Those are not the eyes of someone who is in a good place.
But the worst offender is that brand personality slide because not only does this version of Sonic not pull off the salesperson look (or any look), it just reeks of the studio desperately telling fans “See! Sonic is cool! Honestly!”

Unsurprisingly, the internet has had quite the response to Sonic’s live-action design and not all of it is good.

The Sonic on the left wants to take you to his favorite chili dog place.
The Sonic on the right traps you in a corner at a party and snorts coke off his hand in the middle of telling you why CrossFit makes him a better engineer. pic.twitter.com/vy69vturPq

If there’s any consolation about live-action Sonic, and boy did I have to dig deep for this, it would be that the character looks perfect for Ben Schwartz to go bonkers in voicing him.
After seeing Sonic’s design, I’m suddenly super worried about Jim Carrey’s take on Doctor Ivo ‘Eggman’ Robotnik.
