Global Masturbation Study Proves Queer People Are The Horniest, Most Satisfied & The Best At Talking About Sex

Queer babes are not only more open about their sex lives, but also happier with them. Talking about sex will lead to better sex! Who knew?

TENGA, a Japanese purveyor of male-focused masturbation aids, has conducted a global study into sexual pleasure and masturbation.

And my oh my, it’s one heck of a beast, standing strong at a girthy 75 pages.

The report surveyed participants from 18 countries (making up 57 percent of the world’s population) across six continents. Countries included India, Mexico, Brazil, Kenya, Nigeria, UAE, South Africa, USA, UK, Australia, China, Germany, France, Taiwan, Russia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.

Australians come in at 10th on the ‘Global Good Sex Index’ which measures the frequency and quality of sex, orgasms, masturbation and mutual connection with a sexual partner. Indians are the most sexually satisfied, while the Japanese are, apparently, pretty bloody frustrated with their sex lives.

That could explain why Japanese men jerk off more than any other country (apart from South Korea and the UK). 78 percent of people masturbate globally and men, seemingly, make up the majority of the figures.

And guess what: queer people are considerably hornier than their straight friends. 97 percent of those who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual have masturbated at some time in their life, compared to 86 percent of their hetero counterparts.

Globally, men masturbate a whole bunch but aren’t so good at talking about it… unless they’re queer, that is. 71 percent of those identifying as gay, lesbian or bisexual have spoken to their partner about masturbation – a stark comparison to the 42 percent of straight people who are open to discussing their own habits of self-stimulation.

A global average of 30 percent have lied about their masturbation habits, but the study showed those cultures who were more open in their discussions were more sexually satisfied. Start talking to each other, ’cause communication makes for better sex!

Of the countries surveyed, Australian men are fourth most comfortable talking about their masturbation habits, beaten only by India, Brazil and Mexico.

Australia’s reasons for keeping schtum? 70 percent think of masturbation as a private matter that doesn’t need discussing, while 22 percent don’t think it’s something men should talk about. 31 percent don’t want others to know matters relating to their ‘private’ life.

What’s interesting about this study is the scope of the data amassed. The data pool is broad, taking a wide number of cultures into account. Some of the global averages seem slightly unbelievable – 25% of women have never tried masturbating? Really?!? – but when you dive into the 75-page powerpoint, much of the data is broken down by the individual countries.

What can we take from this? Talk to each other more. Open conversation leads to increased sexual satisfaction – so says the world.

So make like the gays (or Salt N Pepa) and open up to each other! Sexual exploration is fun (as long as it’s consensual)!
