Late last night, writer Tom Taylor noticed that Scott Morrison had let his domain lapse, and that some enterprising person had bought it.
Scottmorrison.com.au now leads to a page with just one thing: the song ‘Scotty Doesn’t Know’ by Lustra embedded on it.
Apparently, the Prime Minister forgot to renew his website and it expired today.
Some guy bought it for 50 bucks.
Now it just plays the punk song, 'Scotty Doesn't Know' by Lustra.https://t.co/NA1SksHoNO#Auspol— Tom Taylor (@TomTaylorMade) October 18, 2018
According to SBS, Jack Genesin took credit for the prank, writing on Facebook ‘So, the PM forgot to renew his website and it expired today… Most fun I’ve had with $50 in a long time’:

The website is currently down as a result of all the visitors, which is sad. But you can watch Matt Damon singing ‘Scotty Doesn’t Know’ here and pretend you’re on the Prime Minister’s website:
‘Scotty Doesn’t Know’ was written and performed by the American band Lustra for the 2004 film EuroTrip, starring Michelle Tratchenberg and a bunch of people who aren’t really known for anything else.
This is a fantastic reminder to turn auto-renew on for all of your domain addresses. Not sure how that slipped by the Prime Minister of an entire country if it’s something I’ve managed to do, but maybe he’s just too busy.
