Today on the Internet, British tabloids are in a tizzy over a “shocking” (their words) pose the Queen has taken in her latest portrait.
The photoshoot, which was published by Hello magazine, pictures her majesty – grin on her mug – standing casually with her hands in her pockets.
In case you missed that, the headline-making news is that her hands were in her pockets.
As The Sun reports, the monarch’s dressmaker, Angela Kelly, revealed that Queenie has long wanted to have a chilled out photoshoot, but the powers that be deemed that move “inappropriate”. I mean, dudes, it’s not like she suggested flipping the bird… the woman seemingly just wanted to look less like a statue to people.
Anyway. It appears that at 93-years-old, the Queen is over being told what to do, and went ahead and had her photo taken the way she wanted it. The tiny act has had a huge response. People are literally calling her majesty a “badass” as a direct result.
But isn’t this such a clear reflection of how restrictive the rules the Royals live by are?
Look at how happy and relaxed she seems! She might as well be making a shaka sign. It’s bloody lovely.
One of life’s greatest joys is finding a dress with pockets and shoving your hands into them, yes. But this is the Queen of England, surely this shouldn’t be a big deal.
