We Get It Shawn Mendes And Camila Cabello, Making Out Is Your 'Thing'

Punters didn't buy tickets to the tonsil hockey.

For many, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s relationship is proof that you don’t need to be trapped in the friendzone forever, and that yes, great friendships can blossom into great relationships – particularly when you’re collaborating on a hit song together.

However, since Mendes and Cabello proudly announced to the world that they are very much more than friends, it feels like they’ve been trolling us with their over the top PDA.

Case in point: their courtside makeout session at a basketball game this week.

Watching the pair swap spit like two kids at a Year 8 disco was not only cringeworthy to watch, but it quite clearly made the poor punters sitting next to them feel uncomfortable as well.

It’s not the first time the couple have piled on the PDA. How could we possibly forget their Internet-breaking makeout video from September of this year?

If you haven’t seen it – brace yourself, it’s A LOT – it starts with Mendes saying, “So, we saw on Twitter and stuff, you guys saying stuff about the way we’re kissing and how it looks weird, like, we kiss like fish.”

“Yeah, it really hurt our feelings,” Cabello says. “So we wanted to show how we really kiss,” Shawn adds.

Then, with ZERO warning, the couple launch into slippery game of tonsil hockey that’s impossible to unsee. We’re not the only ones who were shook over the video, either.

Why are Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendes so intent on proving to us how into each other they are?

In an interview with Elle earlier this year, Mendes said “people can say whatever they want to say. They can speculate, but at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is watching.”

“I never want to open the door for people to feel like they are involved. Like I said, I want it to be mind and [his]. That’s why I’m so tight-lipped about it: because I want to protect it,” she added.

There’s no doubt that Cabello and Mendes are falling for each other like “nobody is watching,” but if their PDA is anything to go by, it doesn’t seem like they’re trying to “close” the door for people to feel involved, either.

It’s lovely to see these crazy kids lusting over each other, but it is a lot – especially for the basketball fans who were just trying to enjoy a good game.
