Tiny Space Workouts So You Can Shelve The Excuses

Whether you want to keep your gains, keep your brain quiet, or just want something to do.

There are a thousand reasons to go to the gym. Personally I find that it’s the best thing to keep my mental health in check, and that it’s a chunk of the day where I find it impossible to think about the impending collapse of the world because I’m too busy struggling under weights. The nation wide shutdown means no gym though, and at a time when we especially need an outlet to stop our brains screaming about the state of things. Here are some quarantine workouts you can do that don’t require much space or equipment so you can keep your gains, keep your brain quiet, or just give you something to do.

Live-Stream A Workout

A lot of workout groups are beginning to put out live streams of classes – from warm ups to stretches to push ups and burpees. Sites like Blink Fitness are doing Facebook Live videos, F45 classes are being filmed so you can follow along at home, and YouTube channels like Yoga With Adriene have more workouts than you could ever hope to get through.

Download An App

A lot of fitness apps that you’d usually have to pay for are making exceptions at the moment so that people can still exercise. Down Dog has made all the apps that they own – Down Dog, Yoga for Beginners, HIIT, Barre, and 7 Minute Workout – free until April 1st. The Tone It Up app is currently free as well. There are also apps like Nike Training Club and Adidas Training by Runtastic that have always been free – now is as good a time as any to hit download.

Follow A Workout Plan

There are so many fitness plans out there that it might be overwhelming if you dive straight in. This one from Blogilates is designed especially for a 14 day quarantine workout though, and should get you through isolation without too many burpees.
