This News Anchor Can’t Get Her Nails Done Cos Of COVID-19, Cue The Violins

"This is not a priority, people are dying, but..."

If there’s one thing we could all use a little of right now, it’s perspective. Many of us are isolated with a roof over our heads, food in the cupboard and – for some – a lifetime supply of toilet paper on hand. It could be a lot worse. The global number of coronavirus cases recently passed 460,000. The economic hit resulting from this pandemic is likely to be worse than the 2008 recession, and 20,000 people have now lost their lives. But for one Fox News host, not being able to get her nails done is the worst First World problem amidst the COVID-19 crisis.

While chatting about the state of COVID-19 in America “hopefully” moving in the right direction, Fox & Friends anchor Ainsley Earhardt took the opportunity to speak about some of the major inconveniences she has personally experienced – which included her nails and hair.

“I live in the city. You can go back to the area, but I don’t want to – I don’t want to be near the area that’s infected the most. But I’m thinking about all the bills that are stacking up at my apartment. If you bought clothing before all this happened, if you want to return it – will stores waive that 30-day period where you can get your money back?”

As if that didn’t make you cringe enough, Earhardt continued.

“Y’all don’t think about this, guys – and this is not a priority – but women have to get their hair done. This is not a priority, people are dying, and I realise that – but they can’t get their nails done. Businesses are closed everywhere.”

Earhardt has a point. Bills are stacking up, and getting a blowout or nail appointment right now is near impossible – but c’mon, there are more pressing issues than letting your roots grow out or living with chipped nails.

Hear about how to stay entertained at home below:

As COVID-19 hits the economy and businesses suffer, people all over the world are losing their jobs. The elderly and those with underlying health conditions are forced into isolation – away from family and friends – to avoid contracting the deadly virus. People are landing in ICU and dying every day. Nail appointments aren’t really front of mind right now.

As mentioned earlier, it’s time to have a bit of perspective.
