Please Listen To Actual Doctors And Not Miranda Kerr Flogging A Dangerous Book

It's definitely not peer reviewed.

Miranda Kerr and her antis are well practiced at doing thing that raise eyebrow, but this time she’s been accused of being straight up dangerous through plugging a book. She’s promoted a book to her 1.2 million Instagram followers written by a dude who gives us all medical advice that he got from angels. Or something.

Sadly yes, I typed that out correctly. Miranda shared the cover of a free PDF e-book (your first clue as to whether or not it was peer reviewed) written by a guy named Anthony William. William describes himself as a ‘medical medium’ (which is your second clue). She captioned the post “Great info to help people at this time.”

Aside from claiming to be the person behind making celery juice popular, Anthony William says he was “born with the unique ability to converse with the Spirit of Compassion” which lets him “read people’s conditions and tell them how to recover their health.”

It’s worth noting here, that this dude does not have a medical degree of any kind. He has a disclaimer on his website that opens with this reassuring passage:

Anthony William, Inc. dba Anthony William, Medical Medium (“Anthony William, Medical Medium”) is not a licensed medical doctor, chiropractor, osteopathic physician, naturopathic doctor, nutritionist, pharmacist, psychologist, psychotherapist, or other formally licensed healthcare professional, practitioner or provider of any kind.

There’s also a whole section on essential angels, I went down a real rabbit hole here.

Bye

Anyway, people were not pleased with Miranda Kerr shilling this book.

“This is really irresponsible, stop spreading fake information,” was the most succinctly written comment, but there are also highlights like “The gods have told me that you are a moron,” and “Oh, f*ck off.”

As coronavirus spreads, the spread of fake information and fake cures has come with it. People have died by following incorrect advice, and with tensions as high as they’ve ever been, not is not the time to be listening to Mr. Celery Juice Angel Guy.
