Full Points To The Wuhan Kids Trying To Get Their Homework App Banned

Schools out.

The people of Wuhan have been living in lockdown since January as the Chinese government tries to stop the spread of coronavirus. As the epicentre of the outbreak, Wuhan has practically become a ghost town. For the kids of Wuhan, coronavirus quarantine has been a bit like an extra school holiday – and they’ll be damned if anyone is going to make them do school work.

When it became apparent that classes wouldn’t be back in any time soon, teachers started enlisting the help of an app called DingTalk. It’s a nifty app that lets teachers give online classes, and their students can sign in and talk to them in real time. Online classroom, problem solved, right?

The students worked out very quickly that if they started giving the app one star reviews, they could get it kicked off the app store. No more app, no more school. Almost overnight, the rating for DingTalk went from 4.9 to 1.4 stars.

It got so grim that the app developers had to get on social media, and basically beg for kids to stop rating the app out of existence.

“I’m only five years old myself, please don’t kill me.” DingTalk wrote in a disturbingly emotional social media post.

Brb, crying forever over an app pleading for its life.

No matter where you go in the world, people are people. We’re all just trying to get through the day without accidentally walking into a glass door or catching coronavirus. And if you’re a kid, you’re trying to get through the coronavirus quarantine without having school work forced on your precious time off.

There isn’t any word yet on when the lockdown will be totally lifted and life will go back to normal, but hopefully it’ll be soon. In the meantime, wash your hands and stop touching your face.
