The Queen Shades Prince Harry By Giving Prince William A New Royal Title

And it's a mouthful!

It’s been a pretty hectic time for the Royal family with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle giving up their Royal titles to live a simpler life with their son Archie.

And now it seems that after Queen Elizabeth took away Harry and Meghan’s titles, she’s just gone ahead and given Prince William another one!

People reports Queen Elizabeth has appointed her grandson, and second in line to the throne, as the new Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. Wow, what a mouthful.

This new role will see William become the British monarch’s personal representative to the Church of Scotland, where he will have to carry out various official visits and ceremonial visits, according to the publication.

Prince William takes over the role from Richard Scott, the 10th Duke of Buccleuch and 12th Duke of Queensbury. Princess Anne held the position before Scott.

Look, it’s probably not meant to be seen as shade, but the timing – just one week after Prince Harry and Meghan’s Royal split became official – has us wondering if it was intentional.

Or perhaps, the role was originally meant for Prince Harry but has now been given to Prince William in the aftermath of the split?

After news of the Royal split became official, Prince Harry spoke at an event for his charity Sentebale and said, “Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am.”

He also said that he felt “there really was no other option” other than to step back as a senior member of the Royal family.

During the speech, he also made sure to mention the Queen and was very complimentary.

“I will always have the utmost respect for my grandmother, my commander-in-chief, and I am incredibly grateful to her and the rest of my family, for the support they have shown Meghan and I over the last few months. I will continue to be the same man who holds his country dear and dedicates his life to supporting the causes, charities and military communities that are so important to me,” he said.

“Together, you have given me an education about living. And this role has taught me more about what is right and just than I could have ever imagined. We are taking a leap of faith — thank you for giving me the courage to take this next step.”

Let’s be honest, Prince Harry is no doubt pretty happy Prince William got that new title!
