Standing Up For George Floyd Got This Aussie Porn Star Booted From A US Flight

“I was told I couldn’t make a political statement."

It’s not the first time an Australian has gotten involved in the Black Lives Matter protests, and it definitely won’t be the last. Australian porn actress Elle Knox reveals she was kicked off a flight in the US after standing up to share her views on George Floyd’s death. Hear all about the protests below:

In a recent tweet, Knox said, “My flight from Houston to San Francisco just landed. I stood up and said, ‘This isn’t my country, I am Australian. But I’ve noticed your democracy being threatened. Do not be complacent. Decide what side of history you’d like to be on.’”

According to News.com.au, police were called after passengers on Knox’s flight “felt threatened” by her statement about George Floyd.

“I’ve been told I scared people when I made the announcement,” Knox tweeted. “Even though everyone applauded me when I was escorted off. If I stood up and asked people to wish my friend a happy birthday this wouldn’t be an issue.”

“I was told I couldn’t make a political statement on a United Airline, I told them this was a Human Rights statement,” she added in another tweet.

After much debate, Elle Knox was able to catch her connecting flight home to Sydney – but her experience is reflective of mounting tensions between protesters and authorities.

In a later tweet, Knox said, “I had a chance for 300+ people to hear what I had to say and I took it. BE THE CHANGE.”

Protesters fighting against racial injustice and police brutality have been gathering all over the US and other parts of the world, with many demonstrations escalating to violence through the use of tear-gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets.

Despite curfews and aggressive tactics from the authorities, protesters show no sign of slowing down in the fight for justice.
